If you want to provide additional information about the sale, RetailEdge can send information about the sale to a display pole at the time of sale. To set up a display pole choose Options from the Tools menu item and press on the Display tab. Choose the Display Pole on Serial Port option and then choose the serial port you are using (COM1, COM2, etc.) and then choose the type of Display Pole you are using. RetailEdge will also allow you to type in a scrolling message. Just check the Enable Scrolling Message checkbox and type in the message you want your customer's to see while you are not ringing in sales. Once you have set up your pole display RetailEdge will then display the item you are selling and the price when you enter it into a sale, redisplay the price if any discount is extended and then display the sale total and change due.
