Back Date Sales
RetailEdge has the ability to change the date on a sale (Tip 008). This was originally designed to help people who had forgotten to post a sale the previous day or payment at the end of the month.
Or Future Date Orders
However many people are using this feature to future date orders. This can be useful if you are trying to track when an order should be fulfilled (e.g., nurseries when landscaping jobs are to take place, caterers when events are to take place, florists when deliveries are scheduled, etc.).
To future date:
1. Create a sale with a customer
2. Check ship this sale (if you are using it for deliveries)
3. Press Ctrl-Alt-D on the sales screen. This will allow you to future date the sale.
4. On the Payment Tab, put the amount of the deposit, if you are taking a deposit, and press the Order button.
This will create an open order with the delivery date in the sales manager (select the Open Order option from the drop down).
Once the delivery/job/order has been completed, then you can simply select the open order take the customers money and it will be completed (moving it from "pending" to "completed"). If you are taking 100% deposit this makes it pretty easy since no money needs to change hands at this point. Using RetailEdge Island with this feature on a tablet can be a great asset to your mobile sales force.
