cash drawer doesn't open

    cash drawer doesn't open

    This just started happening on both registers, both have Epson TM88 III USB printers, driving the cash drawer. when you complete a sale you hear the drawer solenoid, but the drawer doesn't open. It always worked fine until a couple of updates ago. It is a intermittent thing, sometimes several times in a row then not again that day. Any idea's?
    Register 1 Windows Xp Pro 32 bit
    Epson TM88 III USB printer
    MMF Cash Drawer

    Register 2 Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
    Epson TM88 III USB Printer
    MMF Cash Drawer

    Receipt Printer setting in Retail Edge Tape Style- VIA Windows print driver Device Name Epson TM-88
    Cash Drawer Driven by receipt printer, this setting is the same on both machines

    Retail Edge Ver 8.1.12 on both machines

    There have not been any changes to the program that would effect a drawer pop. And the fact that the solenoid is clicking means that RetailEdge is actually trying to pop the drawer. The only thing that I can think of that might be happening is somehow your settings for the Epson T88 have been changed. Go to Tools - Devices - Cash Drawer should be 27,112,0,25,250 for the T88. Also make sure you make any changes to the register settings from the register being changed.

    When I go to TOOLS - DEVICES - RECIEPT PRINTER
    I have selected TAPE STYLE VIA Windows Printer Driver
    Printer name Epson TM88III
    Device Name Epsom TM-T88
    no other settings are avaible.

    Tools -Devices - Cash Drawer
    Driven by Reciept Printer
    No other settings are avaible there .

    Where should the settings be?

    I think you are in Tools|Settings. You want to choose Tools|Devices. You will then see a list of every device. The select the T88, modify it and then press the Cash Drawer Tab. You will see a field call Drawer Pop that will need the settings below.
