To redeem a gift certificate: Press the Sales button on the Toolbar if you are not already in a Sales Screen. Add the customer to the Sales Screen. Press the Tab key to go to the Items box, put the items that the customer is purchasing on the Sales Screen and press the Post Sale button. On the Payment Screen press the Use Gift button. RetailEdge will then display all of the gift certificate(s) given to the customer and the available or remaining balance on the gift certificate(s). Note: If RetailEdge says that "This customer does not have any active gift certificates", you can view all of your gift certificates in the Gift Certificate Manager, by choosing Sales Management | Gift Certificates from the Register menu. You can then check off the gift certificate(s) the customer is using and press the OK button. The total amount (or remaining balance) of the gift certificate will then be placed in a GIFT payment media in the Payment Screen. If the amount of the sale is MORE than the gift certificate, place the amount still due in the appropriate payment media and press the Post Sale button to complete the sale. If the amount of the sale is LESS than the gift certificate, press the Post Sale button. RetailEdge will then display the Change Options Screen and allow you to choose whether you would you like to return the money to the customer as change, keep it on the credit, or keep it on the gift certificate. Choose the method you want and press the OK button. RetailEdge will then complete the sale.
