I'm trying to use the Metrologic sp5500 and the manual talks about a file called ptfer.exe. My system does not have this file on it. Where do I get it??

The ptfer.exe is for a different device. What you want to take a look at is the following forum posting.

Okay I got the optimus software and latest retailedge-rev.opt in the system and the handheld is downloading in text format. How do I import it - what format do I select on import?

One of the CSV files. SKU, Quantity. But you can open the file in Notepad and see how it is structured. RetailEdge handles lots of different file formats. So if it is different just use the appropriate def in RetailEdge.
