How do I prevent too many sales screens being displayed

A few people have reported the problem that the clerks were opening numerous sales screens and this was leading to confusion about what what was open and what needed to be posted.

The ability to have many sales screens open can be helpful in that you don't need to Save the sale in order to hold it (although you can if you want). But it can be a little confusing if you are not paying attention, so we have two things that might help

Closing the Regular Sales Screen after Each Post.

To turn the feature on, you need to add SalesCloseAfterPost=1 to the [User] section of the retailedge.ini file. Turning this feature on will close the sales screen after a sale is posted. This can be especially useful if you are working heavily on Saving and Recalling sales (for instance, saving Tabs/Checks in the Saved Sale Manager). This will allow you to keep the Saved Sale Manager up and not have to worry about having multiple Sales Screens being generated. Or Copying Sales from either the Customer Manager or Inventory Manager. Many businesses are posting similar sales based on Customer Sales History or are copying multiple items from the Inventory Manager right into the Sales Screen.

    Use the Sales Touch Screen.

The Sales Touch Screen only allows one active Sales Screen at a time. So this will prevent the problem entirely. To setup the Sales Touch Screen as the default

Choose Workstations from the Tools|Settings menu item
    Press the Misc Tab
    Choose the Sales Touch Option.

These settings can be done on a per workstation basis and so you can tailor the users experience differently on each workstation.
