Tip No. 044 - Issuing Store Credit at the POS

by RetailEdge Moderator » Tue Mar 24, 2015 10:16 am

Sometimes it is useful to allow customers to pre-pay for a store credit without using all the extra complexity of House Charges.

To do this simply setup an item with a Stock Type: Store Credit Issued at the POS. Then when you need issue the credit, sell the item and the amount of the item will be applied to the customer's store credit.

There are lots of different uses for this type of Stock Type:

    Paintball field supplies
Gym Credits for food and supplies
    Student Class Hours
    Canoe and Kayak trip supplies
Gift Card alternative that is tied to a customer.
Credits for children and siblings that have to be used at your store.

Hopefully this will give you some good ideas how to use this type of item for your business. Let us know if you have more.
