Tip No. 036 - Stay BPA Free and Save a Tree

by RetailEdge Moderator » Fri Nov 07, 2014 10:21 am

Did you know most thermal register receipt paper relies on bisphenol-A (BPA - the stuff that people don't want in their water bottles) to create the image on the paper? You can however, get BPA-Free receipt tape. It costs a little more but if you are concerned about BPA for your employees and customers you can purchase it from us here.

Most of the time a receipt is necessary for a sales transaction. However you can reduce the amount of receipt paper you use by:

Asking the customer if they want a receipt and only printing a receipt when they want one. To help your clerks to remember to do this you can set your default receipt count in the Workstation Settings to 0. If you need to reprint a receipt Ctrl-Alt-R can do it for you quickly.

Reduce the amount of information printed on the receipt in the Advanced Receipt Options in the Workstation Settings.

Reduce the size of the font on your receipts. Many ECO printers have settings in the Windows drivers to allow you to shrink the receipt.

Get a customer facing device through our integrated credit card partners. With signature capture devices, RetailEdge does not print the store's receipt unless you reprint it.

E-mail your receipts. Print a full page receipt and press the E-mail button.
