    Have you ever gone to a Coffee shop where they offer a card where you buy 10 coffees and you get the 11th free? Have you ever though that you would like to do something like this in your business? The good news is RetailEdge can help. This week I wanted to shine a light on the Rewards – Punch cards, commonly know as a Coffee Card or Sandwich card.

    1: Select Inventory | Discount Rules | Edit

    2: On the Discount Rule Screen select Add

    3: On the Edit Discount Rule enter the:
    Discount Rule Name: Name the Discount Rule.
    Description: Give the Discount Rule a description.
    Applies to: Select Customer AND Inventory Lists.
    Discount Rule Type: Select the Rewards – Punch Card * either the Percent off or Amount, depending on you needs.
    Start and End dates: Select the dates you want this active.
    Start and End Times: If you would like this to work only during certain times of the day you can adjust there here.
    Single Day of Week? You can limit the day the discount is available here.
    Coupon Code: You can select a code to use if you like here.
    Your screen should look like this

    4. Select the Rule Settings Tab and enter the Rule settings.
    Buy X Quantity: This is how many items the customer has to purchase.
    For Example buy 10
    Get Y % or Amount Off on Next item: This is the Reward for the next item.
    For example get one free. ( 100% off or dollar amount off.)

    5. Select the Location Settings tab (if applicable)
    Select the Locations you want this discount to work for.

    6. Select the Filter Settings tab and Select the Set Filter Criteria Button.

    Select the filter criteria that you want this to apply to for. Example: the Stock Number, department, or however else you want to. Once you select your filters select ok.

    7. Select Save on the Edit Discount screen

    8. Select the Run Discount Rule Utility Button on the Discount Rules – Batch Utility screen.

    9. Select Ok on the RetailEdge Information screen and you are done!

    When you load your customers into the sales screen RetailEdge will keep track of how many times they purchased the item and give the discount.
