    Which terminal to use?

    by FatBear » Sun Sep 20, 2015 4:34 pm

If I switch to Cayan processing I will need to select from these terminals:

    Ingenico iCT220 / Ingenico iPP220
    Verifone Vx520 / Verifone Vx805

Any opinions on them? Is one particularly good or bad?

    Thanks

Cayan currently provides users with a Verifone MX915 which has their own software on it. The device/system is referred to as Genius Device/Genius.

Yes it is big, but it has signature capture and you can display advertisements in the display space. It does have some other utility. The device is also an IP based device and so it is easy to install and can be used from multiple terminals or disconnected (mobile registers).

If you are looking for something smaller, our Mercury integration uses the VX805. It is smaller and can fit on counters where space can be limited.

They both support ApplePay and AndroidPay if that matters to you. I know that Mercury does something with PayPal.

Each one has its advantages. Also currently Mercury has some pretty good incentives and specials currently running.

Thanks. I will look into Mercury.
(And I was just getting used to the new OE/PayPros account statements...)
