Using the Genius Device

To setup RetailEdge to use Cayan:

1.	In RetailEdge choose Settings \|Workstations from the Tools menu item.

2.	Select the workstation you want to have work with Cayan and press the Modify button.

3.	On the Edit Workstation screen press the Credit Card (1 of 2) tab.

4.	Select Use Cayan (Out of Scope).

5.	Press the Edit Cayan Settings button.

6.	Type in the following information (to be given to you by Cayan when you setup an account):

•Business Name: The business' name on the account (assigned and e-mailed to you when your account is setup).

•Site ID: Your business' SiteID (assigned and e-mailed to you when your account is setup).

•Key Value: Your business' Key Value (assigned and e-mailed to you when your account is setup).

•IP Address (Genius CED Device): Type in the IP Address of your Genius CED if you are using one (see notes below). If you are not using the Genius Device (Cayan's Transport Web for hand keying or mobile/laptop use) then you can put any value in this field.

•Timeout - MW Server (secs): This is the length of time RetailEdge will wait until it gives up on a response from Cayan during the initial interaction with Cayan Servers. A good initial setting is 15-30 seconds.

•Timeout - Genius Device (secs): This is the length of time RetailEdge will wait until it gives up on a response from the Genius Device. A good initial setting is 120 seconds. This time includes time for RetailEdge to talk to the device (should be quick across the LAN), time for the customer to have their card ready and swipe the card, and the time for the response and approval to return from Cayan.

•Use Device For Hand-Keying Checkbox. This should be used by default, however RetailEdge does support using hand-keying on through the computer to allow workstations that need to process without a Genius to do so.

7.	Press the Ok button to save.

8.	Press the Credit Card (2 of 2) tab and add any up to four receipt messages that you want to have displayed on printed credit card receipts.

9.	If you are finished editing the workstations settings, press the Save button to save your credit card settings and exit out of the workstation settings.

Note: The IP address of the genius CED (Card Entry Device) can be determined by pressing 0-0-0 on the Genius CED and entering the password given to you by Cayan.

Using an Encrypted Magnetic Strip Reader.

If you are using an encrypted magnetic strip reader instead of the Genius device, then you can use the same setup as above with the exception that the IP Address (Genius CED Device) field should be left blank.
