 New Inventory Stock Types
Three new stock types (rental, store credit, and department SKUs) allow you to
better categorize your inventory.
Rental - Now better track and measure your inventory levels for Rental
Items
Credit - Allow customer's to prepay for store credits.
Department - Department levels SKUs will calculate the cost of an item
based on the the a specific department's average margin . So by setting up a
few department SKUs you can start using RetailEdge without taking the time to
enter individual inventory items. Use department SKUs with programmable
keyboards to allow you to use your computer like a traditional cash register.
Department items are useful for grocery stores where shelves are automatically
restocked and allow for quicker store start-up.
 New Faster Sales Screen Lookup
Features
RetailEdge now searches the customer database from the Sales Screen. Instead of
having lookup Customers in order to add them to the Sales Screen or a Gift
Certificate, you can now enter the customer's name or phone number on the Sales
Screen and RetailEdge will display all of the customers matching the search.
RetailEdge also now remembers the last search criteria for inventory and
customer searches.
 Item Pictures on the Sales
Screen
If you have pictures associated with your inventory items, RetailEdge will now
display a thumbnail picture of the item right on the Sales Screen. Double
clicking on the picture, will give you a full size picture of the item. This
can help minimize sales errors by allowing the clerks to see what item is being
sold. |

Imports)
You can now import data into RetailEdge. Import existing data as new user or
import purchase orders, inventory changes, customer data or sales data from
other RetailEdge installations. More..
 Instantly Copy
Purchase Orders
Now with the click of a button, copy the items on an existing purchase order
into a new purchase order. This is useful for creating similar reorders or for
preseason orders.
 Custom User Fields
The inventory and customer files now have five (5) additional user fields.
These fields can be used for filtering exports, filtering views and filtering
reports. These fields can be used for storing alternate customer phone numbers,
identifying special customers or customers who have bad credit, inventory
author and publisher information, inventory sub-department or class information
or inventory weights.
 New Report Filters
RetailEdge now has a Date Range combo box on Report Filter Screen that allows
for quick date filtering. You can choose from the following date ranges so that
you can generate the reports you need faster:
- Today
- This Month
- This Quarter
- This Year
- Month to Date
- Quarter to Date
- Year to Date
- Last Month
- Last Quarter
- Last Year
RetailEdge will also now remember the date range of the last run report and use
this for the default (even after exiting the program). This allows you to run a
series of reports (quarterlies, end of month, etc.) reports faster.

Better Exports
Paradox and dBase file exports now include the Memo fields.
Email Button in Customer
and Vendor.
Need, to send a quick e-mail to a customer or vendor? Just double click the
customer or vendor you want to send e-mail to from the list. Press the button
next to the e-mail address field on the customer and vendor editor screen and
automatically start an e-mail addressed to the customer or vendor. This is
useful if you need to quickly e-mail to a vendor or customer about the status
of an order.
Purchase Order Discount
Now you can quickly discount all costs on a purchase order. This is helpful for
preseason order discounts
Matrix creation with 0
quantity items
When creating a matrix on a purchase order or in receiving you can now add
items with 0 quantity to allow you to create a full matrix of items in your
inventory, without having to physically receive all of the items.
Tape Style vs. Invoice
Style Dialog Box
When you select the Receipt Option to Ask for a Sales Receipt at the end of
every sale. RetailEdge will now allow you to change the type of receipt you are
printing (tape style or invoice style). This is useful for customers who need
to quickly switch between printing regular receipts to invoices for house
charge transactions.
Print Clerk Mailing Labels
You can now print clerk mailing labels right from the Clerk List by
highlighting the clerks you want to create mailing labels for and pressing the
labels button on the right hand side of the screen.
Longer Store Name
Store Name has been lengthened to 50 characters Now supports NT parallel tape
style receipt printers and cash drawers.
Receipt Sign Lines
Receipts now include a sign line on certain generic receipts (e.g. return,
house charge, payout, new layaway, etc.) - This provides useful documentation
for these types of transactions.
New Receipt Printer Options
Receipt Printer Options now has a receipt delay option - This is helpful if you
need to print and tear off a second receipt but don't have an auto-cutter on
your receipt printer.
Modified Sale Data

Sale Data Screen now displays the change due in larger type
Added platform support
Now fully tested on Windows ME and added support for Windows NT receipt
printing
Improved Sales Screen
If Sales Screen is already open pressing Ctrl-S will give it focus - This is
helpful when you have multiple lists and editors open and need to quickly ring
in a sale.
