Customer comments and suggestions form a large part of the decision of what
features go into future RetailEdge releases. So if you have a good idea, please
feel free to let us know and it may be something that goes into a future
release. We try to incorporate features into RetailEdge that you ask for, but
we can't always be as responsive as we would like to be. Also although
RetailEdge has many useful features and reports, every business is different
and some reports and features may never be incorporated into RetailEdge.
Now you can have them created for you. So if you need to have the feature
included into RetailEdge then RE-Extra may be the way to go. Additional custom
functionality can be added to the program in the following areas:
RE-Extra menu
- Have your own menu items and functions created that work from within
RetailEdge.(custom reports, run separate programs from within RetailEdge)
Sales Button
- Insert a customized button on the Sales Screen. (Assign different clerks to
each item on a sale, display a list of package/kit items that add multiple
inventory items to the Sales Screen)
Clear Sales
– Create special actions that occur when a Sales Screen is opened or
cleared.
Prescan
Sales – Pre-scan items on the Sales Screen and perform actions that
occur when certain items are found on the Sales Screen .(Check availability of
rental items, pop up messages for clerks when certain items are sold)
Post Sales
– Used when the Sale is posted. (Print customized receipts)
What types of things can you do with RE-Extra?
Anything that you can think of. Listed below are some of suggestions that have
either been created as a custom program or have been suggested in the past:

information to an external file outside of RetailEdge

Create a list of reports that you need to run on an ongoing basis (monthly
sales reports)

special privileges, print specialized customer cards or IDs

customers to be associated with a sale.
Quickly call up
specific customer information from the sales screen (relatives, sizes, etc.)

Create a function
to allow you to sell packages or kits
Printing custom
labels to a specialized printer on custom label stock (plastic, card stock,
wristbands, etc.)
