RetailEdge on Microsoft Embedded for Point of Service

If you are running RetailEdge 7.5 on a machine that is using Microsoft Embedded for Point of Service, the help files might not work correctly. This is because the Windows Help stub files are not properly installed with this version of Windows. If this is the case, you should try the following.

    1. Download a copy of the winhlp32.exe from Microsoft or our FTP site at ftp://ftp.highmeadow.com/pub/Support.
    2. Place this file in a folder on your computer (typically c:\windows).
    3. Open Windows Explorer by pressing the Windows Start button, choosing Run and typing in Explorer in the Open Box and pressing the Ok button.
    4. Open the RetailEdge 7.5 program folder. Usually located in c:\program files\RetailEdge 7.5)
    5. Find the file called RetailEdge Version 7.HLP and double click it.
    6. When a dialog box comes up saying that it can't open this file, choose select the Program from a list and select the winhlp32.exe file.

The Help file will now open and RetailEdge will now properly display the help file.
