In general, RetailEdge maintains it's databases and tables automatically. That said, it is possible that through power interruptions or other means, a table might become damaged.
Once and a while, perhaps monthly, it's a good idea to run the Verify Table utility. To do so, follow these steps:
1) Select Tools / Verify Tables from the main menu.
2) Click OK.
RetailEdge will test each table for damage. If RetailEdge finds a problem, you will be instructed to repair the table(s).
In addition to a routine verification, if your data ever looks wacky or unintelligible or RetailEdge stops behaving in an expected manner, it's a good idea to run the verification utility.
