    Serious problem regarding House Charges

    by Noga » Thu Feb 01, 2007 8:56 pm

every time i attempt to access a customers house charges tab i get the following error message

"RetailEdge has experienced an error. You might need to restart the application."

Needless to say, restarting the application did not fix this problem. It happens for any customer, and thus we cannot accept payment for house charges. This started occuring when we switched to 8.0

    Noga,

The first thing you should do is a Verify Tables and make sure there are no corrupt tables. This can be done from Tools menu.

Also, the next this happens, press Ctrl-Alt-E (or Ctrl-Alt-R). This should display more error information. Please let us know what the "Error Message" is.

    Good luck.

I did this last night after closing. It reported all tables were fine

This is the extended info I got from ctrl-alt-R

RetailEdge has experienced an error. You might need to restart the application.

    Bad News - Good News...

This looks like a bug but there is an easy work-around. It looks like you have the "Turn ON Detail" checkbox unchecked. After you get the error, please check the checkbox. Then click on a different tab and then click back into the "House Charge" tab. Should work now.

I will add this issue to our tracking database and hopefully we'll have a fix in the next release.

    Thanks for the tip.

Wewh, that worked! TYSM for the speedy response, and its always a pleasure to help ID bugs. Be nice to your code monkies and buy them a case of Bawls and chinese take-out when you present them with the new bug list.
