To create a customized line message (a message specific to a particular sale item), place your cursor on the item in the Sales Screen that you want to create a message for and choose Custom Line Message from the Sales menu item. This will display a screen that will allow you to type in a message up to 40 characters long that will be saved with the item. This is useful if you need to note why an item was discounted. This message will be printed under the item on the receipt. You can also right mouse button click the item and choose Custom Line Message from the popup menu.
