How do we create a new matrix item for older inventory that was entered before matrix became available? We would want the history to follow the items to the new matrix, and allow matrix editing for price changes instead of having to go back through every single item.

The only way to do this now is to create the new matrix with the items, you want, and then through the Tools Global Change Inventory menu, merge the items from the old matrix child to the new. Then delete the old.

In an upcoming release we will be adding the ability to manually add and remove children items to different parents.
