    Pin Debit on Genius

    by wildman » Sat Jun 21, 2014 10:00 am

How do we configure Retail Edge for Pin Debit with the Genius? If we select Debit settings from the Credit Card setup screen it says Process as a CC then ask for com port and device (only choice is Verifone 1000SE or Pin Pad and it ask for Serial/Comm port) if we just use the MC/Visa payment it will prompt on screen credit or debit, but never ask for the customer to enter their Pin, The Retail Edge user guide dose not mention how to set this up.

You really don't have to do much. Pick a COM port and a device (PINPAD). Since the Genius is an IP based device, you RetailEdge doesn't need or use this information.

You will then get a DEBIT CARD payment method on the payment screen that you will use when someone wants to use a debit card. Just be careful, since most Debit Cards have the MC logo on them and so this can be run as a credit card. There is a debit card button the Genius that the customer must push in order for it to be run as a debit card.

Hope this helps but if you need more let us know.
