    Importing Stock trouble

    by glowfish » Fri Dec 13, 2013 5:04 pm

I have the file saved from the last time I used support. I am going to the printer and hitting import and selecting that file but I am getting the message "Settings being imported do not belong to the same type of printer." It also looks like there may be some special stocks dsl files that were saved but I am getting the same message with those files as well. I love it when my computer decides to update. Ugh.

I did switch the printer to the EPL version using the printer properties and it is still not working. Still getting same message about it not be the same printer.

Fixed! I found your document that walks you through running the SQL. Of course it wasn't working so I decided to close retail edge and then open in again. Voila!!!
Seriously...I did everything correctly but things needed to be turned on and off to program correctly I guess.
Thanks for putting up such great detailed directions. You need to add to exit and turn off/on things. Man...the time I wasted wondering what I did wrong.
    Have a good one!

Glad you found it. Yes that would make sense. RetailEdge in order to speed up certain operations loads settings on start-up. You actually are seeing that when the screen pops up "loading Caches". We try to reload them when we can, but sometimes it is not efficient.

Sometimes the issue is actually the operating system. We have seen a number of issues with printer drivers where settings do not appear to be there or actual installed printers do not seem to be there. Restart the computer and magically they appear. In these cases they are out of our control.

Let us know if you need anything else.
