Will RetailEdge work on a Windows 8 Tablet?

RetailEdge will work great on a Windows 8 tablet. In fact we have tested it out on HP's ElitePad tablet with the POS wrap with magnetic strip reader and scanner (2d or 1d) and it works great! This can provide a really cost effective way of getting your business to go mobile.

The one things that kind of trips up people is RetailEdge will sometimes throw up a warning about the resolution setting being too low even though they think that the setting is correct. RetailEdge's Sales Screen (which most people are using tablets for so that they can walk the floor with their customers for gift registry or simply and quickly open a second register for line busting) requires a minimum resolution of 1024 x 768. However on a tablet you have the Display settings to set the display to smaller (100%), medium or larger. See the following link

If you set these display settings to something other than 100% then you are changing the effective resolution on the tablet. Usually this will bring this resolution to something less than 1024 x 768. So you must make sure that this setting is set to 100%.
