Can you give us more information on the new Merchant Warehouse processing? how does their terminals connect to the computer? Are multiple terminals needed for multiple registers? Contact information for them?

All good questions. The Genius devices are IP addressable and connect to you LAN just as any other IP device would. So you would plug it into your router/firewall with an ethernet cable. VERY easy and it comes with good directions.

In theory I guess you could have one device for multiple registers. But in terms of customer flow this probably would lead to problems. But if you wanted to just run a quick sale from another workstation it would most likely work fine.

RetailEdge also supports Merchant Warehouse's Transport Web so that if you need to do phone orders with hand keyed transactions you can. And this supports encrypted swipe if you do have a card present. So you would not need to use the Genius device unless you needed some of the other functionality (PIN entry for PIN debit or signature capture).

Does this capture the sale information from Retail Edge, or does it have to be entered into a terminal separate? If it captures the information, does it connect to the computer/register, if so how? Can we do sales that are not through retail edge? We do special orders off system, and currently, use Mercury's virtual terminal for them.

Yes this captures sale information from RetailEdge. RetailEdge works with the Genius device so there is no double entering of information. It does not connect to the computer. It connects to your router/firewall/switch so is a part of the LAN. RetailEdge then just needs to know the IP address of the device.

There is a virtual terminal type system that you can use to do your off-system special orders.
