To enter items into the Data Collection Terminal:

1. Setup the terminal as described in the terminal's user guide.

2. Choose to a one prompt or two prompt scan.

3. Scan your inventory

4. Review the scanned items.

Notes:

Although you have the option of scanning one prompt (scanning one item after another) or two prompt (scanning and then entering a quantity) we recommend that you scan one prompt. This will minimize the chances that someone scans a barcode at quantity prompt. It will create a record of where you scanned a particular item in location to other items.

You can collect data in one large batch and or in multiple smaller batches (each batch representing a room or a defined space). There are advantages to both approaches. The user has to perform an upload and import into RetailEdge only once with the large batch. For the multi-batch approach, the advantage is that if there is a mistake in collection that is made, then the user only has to repeat that one section as compared to a whole physical a second time.
