    Require customer name on returns

    by DAVE » Tue Nov 13, 2012 1:15 pm

I would like to see an option added to require a customer name if a sale includes a return. This is particularly important when using a loyalty program, to offer some protection against customers earning loyalty dollars by purchasing with their customer name and then returning anonymously and thus not having the return debit the loyalty account. Leaving it to the clerk to have to remember to tag the return with the customer name is bound to be forgotten.
Seems like a good place for this would be an option check box on the Tools/Edit Workstation/Misc settings tab.

I will add this to the list of suggestions.

In the interim you can always add a customer to a sale after the fact but right clicking the sale in the Sales Manager and selecting Change Customer.

True, and that is a nice feature, but you have to have the information in order to do that. Once the customer is out the door, it's too late.
