In the next few weeks we will be releasing RetailEdge Version 8.2.16. This version will contain a large number of new features that will include:

1. Removal of the floating decimal feature
2. Fractional penny pricing
3. Wish Lists
4. Workstation Mode Security
5. Recurring Billing and Club Management
6. Enhanced Report Exports
7. Value Added Taxes (VAT)
8. Sales Log Purges.

The Floating Decimal Feature Removal

In this version we will also be removing the floating decimal feature. Although this has been a feature of RetailEdge for years, we are removing it in this version so that we can add the ability have prices with more than 2 places right of the decimal (e.g., 10th of a penny). This allows the program to support:

1. Low price items and discounts that require fractional cents.
2. Value Added Taxes.
3. Gas sales

This feature will also speed up the sales process. So instead of typing 1000 to get $10.00, you will just have to type $10.

However this will require that you add the decimal in some prices. So instead of typing 1025 to get $10.25 you will now have to type in the full value including the decimal. So it might take a little getting used to but it will ultimately be faster and give users more functionality.
