The loyalty program is a batch process and is typically run at the end of every month (although some people do it more often).
Typically loyalty is an on-going process and we don't automatically reset the Loyalty Balances. There is a customer purge to do this however from the tools menu and you can purge any loyalty dollars issued within 90 days.
The "duplicate" credit that you might be talking about is not really a duplicate. This is what we call the loyalty $ carryover. The way the loyalty program works is that a customer will receive $X of loyalty (any amount you specify) for every $Y spent. In your case $25 for every $500 spent. If the customer has spent $750 in the month they would receive $25 of loyalty and $250 of loyalty carryover. So if the customer next month spends $250 they would have accrued the $500 needed to get another $25 of loyalty. The carryover can be seen on the customer editor at any time and can be an effective selling tool to get the customer to purchase more.
This carryover is not purged as a part of the purge process.
Hope this helps but if you need more let us know.

(The nature of the program is meant to be an ongoing incentive program with no end date. We are planning on rolling out the program Nov 1st going forward.) But once a customer receives and uses each $25 loyalty credit, does the system reset their loyalty balance to zero when the next batch report is run? As we are testing the system, it seems that each time a batch is run after loyalty dollars are spent, a duplicate credit is re-issued. How do we fix this so that the system resets the loyalty dollars to zero until another $500 is spent?
