by RetailEdge Moderator » Wed Jun 08, 2011 11:02 am

I am sure that you are all aware but California Statewide Sales and Use Tax Rate is to Decrease by 1% on July 1, 2011 Statewide Base Tax Rate Decreases from 8.25% to 7.25%.

The one percent sales and use tax rate increase effective will expire lowering the statewide base tax rate from 8.25 percent to 7.25 percent. In areas where there are voter-approved district taxes, the total tax rate related to sales and purchases will be the statewide base tax rate of 7.25 percent plus the applicable district tax.

Check with the California Board of Equalization for specifics at http://www.boe.ca.gov/sutax/pam71.htm

The change can be made in RetailEdge in your Tax Jurisdiction Settings from the Tools menu. Or if you just need to remove one of your jurisdictions, you can do this by editing your location's Default Sales Tax Jurisdictions on the Miscellaneous tab of the Location Settings.
