One of the more overlooked features of RetailEdge is the Activity Manager. RetailEdge can allow you to document activity for each Customer and Vendor and also create independent ToDo lists.
Each Task can be created with a Date, Status, Description, Contact Name, and Clerk as well as detailed descriptions about the contact or ToDo.
Customer and Vendor Activities/Contacts can be accessed right from the Vendor or Customer Managers by pressing the Activity Tab and adding or viewing the activity. Activities can be marked as Open or Complete to allow you to see what customer or vendor issues still need to be resolved
ToDos are a little different as the have the additional field of Due Date so that you can track when a particular action is to be done. In addition ToDos don't have a Customer or Vendor associated with them and so are independent and can be used for a number of different functions (i.e., reminders to clerks to perform a particular action, etc.)
Think that ToDos are things that are to be done in the future and Customer and Vendor Activity are used more for documenting past actions (CYA).
Although the Customer and Vendor Activity can be accessed from the Activity Tab on the appropriate Manager screen, it can sometimes be useful to use the TODO Activity Manager screen for creating this information. So if your business is doing a lot of customer or vendor contacts (think customer service areas or technical support, etc.) then it can be much faster to just open the TODO Activity Manager, set the Drop Down to the type of activity you are going to be logging. Then as you are adding Activity, then you simply press the Add button. RetailEdge will prompt you to add the Customer or Vendor and then allow you to add the activity.
RetailEdge has reports that can be viewed and printed from the Report Selector.
