High Meadow Business Solutions is pleased to announce that it will be shipping RetailEdge 8.2 in the next few of weeks. This is a major release and will be available to all Silver and Gold Level RetailEdge Users.

Data Changes. The main goal of RetailEdge 8.2 is to build a stronger foundation for future growth. The main focus of the 8.2 update has been to improve RetailEdge’s core database structures which will allow us to add many new features during the next 2-18 months. It will also help us accommodate customer feature requests that we were unable to implement because the existing data structures could not support the changes.

Discount Rules. We’ve also added a new feature to help you manage discounts and specials. You’ll be able to create discounts based on standard filtering criteria (e.g. different departments and/or vendors) for specific date and time ranges. RetailEdge 8.2 will support percentage off discounts, amount off discounts, and cost plus pricing. It will also support coupons and customer-based discount rules.

Multi Credit Card Support. RetailEdge users with integrated credit card processing will now be able to process multiple credit cards in one transaction. This includes cards of different types (e.g. VISA and AMEX) and sales with multiple cards of the same type (e.g. multiple VISA Gift cards).

New Filter Capabilities. RetailEdge now offers new filtering options for reports and Manager Views. You can now filter for OR conditions. For instance, if you are looking for customers in either Vermont OR California, you can now add both a “STATE = VT” filter and a “STATE = CA” filter to the filter list. RetailEdge will find all customers from either VT or CA.

Other Features. RetailEdge will now display Release Notes when alerting you to new releases. To see what features are included in a new release, press the Get Info button on the program update screen. This can be displayed at any time by choosing Program Updates from the RetailEdge Help menu.

Important Note: RetailEdge 8.2 introduces significant changes including major changes to your data. We ask all customers to make a backup before updating to 8.2. Also, please plan your update wisely. It’s best to perform this update early in the week, during normal office hours. Do not wait until 5:00 PM Friday. We want to be able to help you if you encounter any problems. If you do the update after we’re closed, you’ll be out of luck until the next Monday.
