RetailEdge will work fine on Windows 7. We have been using and testing RetailEdge on Windows 7 for the past six months and have a number of customers already using Windows 7.

There is no need as far as RetailEdge is concerned to go with the 64 bit version since it is currently a 32 bit application. However our office systems have been converted to Windows 7 64 bit for testing purposes and RetailEdge works fine on the 64 bit version.

The one issue that we have seen is with Windows drivers. Not all peripheral devices in the POS market have been converted to versions that work with the 64 bit version of Windows 7. So if you are purchasing a new machine or converting or upgrading a new machine, please check with the equipment manufacturers to make sure that they have drivers that will work with the version of Windows 7 you are thinking of moving to.
