Sometimes I print large numbers of shelf tags. I am usually just printing one label for each item. When I highlight items in the inventory manager to print labels there seems to be a cut off point on the number of labels i can select ant once. What has happened to me is that I spend time selecting a bunch of items in a category and then when i hit the label button to go to print, a screen pops up and says some thing like "Retail edge has experienced an error and must restart" and I loose all of the stuff i just highlighted and have to do it again in smaller sections. Is there a limit to the amount of information RE can handle in certain screens?

My Manager has experienced similar problems. He was trying to export a RE inventory report into a spreadsheet and it cut some of the data off on the end. I believe the report was for all 3 locations at once and included some 16,000 line items. Is this too big of a report to export? What can be done about this?

When you talk about a large number how many are you talking about 20,200,2000? Let us know.

In the interim, one of the things you can try is highlighting a few and adding them to Receiving. You can then keep adding until you have selected all the ones you want to print and then press the Labels button on the toolbar. This will print all the labels in Receiving. Then simply delete all the items out of receiving. This may help but let us know how many you are trying to do.

It sounds like you are exporting a report. I would try one of the RetailEdge exports. This will export everything into a CSV file that can be viewed as a spreadsheet in Excel. This should do it for you but let us know if it does not.

OK,
So today, I updated prices on 115 items. When I highlighted all 115 at once in the inventory manager screen to print the labels, Retail Edge froze on me and I had to reboot it. Why does this happen? I tried a second time to print all of the labels at once and It froze again. This is so frustrating. Why can't I do my work in big batches of Info at one time? What am I missing here?

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I tried a similar test of 150 and it worked. I'm running a test now with 200 records and it appears to be frozen (although it might just be slow so I'm letting it run out a while).

We will research the problem and see if we can fix it for you.

We think we found the problem. Please download the latest 8.1.8 update (go to Help / Program Updates) and see it it now works any better.
