When changing a "price 1" # for existing inventory item in Inventory Manager, RE also resets the "Sugg. Retail" to this #. We often discount sale items as a back office operation (using the nifty drop down calculator in the price fields), so that the item will ring up at the sale price - makes for a quicker, less error prone transaction at the register (as opposed to clerk using F6 and manually entering the discount for each item). The "Sugg. Retail" should not change when updating the "Price 1, 2, etc" fields. Will this also be fixed in 8.1.3?

The way it works now is that you have a location option to make changing existing item prices and costs easier on purchase orders, in receiving and inventory. When changing the Price 1 value, you can have RetailEdge change:

Only the select price
Copy the Price 1 value to ALL price levels for the SELECTED location.
Copy the Price 1 value to ALL price levels for ALL locations.

If you have selected to copy the value to all locations, this will apply to Cost information in receiving and purchase orders.

So you are now asking to have RetailEdge not change Sugg Retail when you change Price 1 but have it change Price 2-5?

I could care less about prices 2 through 5 but I am sure you are going to tell me every other RetailEdge customer uses that feature, except us.
What I am asking for is a user friendly price setting interface that easily accomodates wholesale and retail pricing changes and discounting in a real world retail environment, with a minimum of fuss and pricing errors. Short of that, I guess the answer to your question is yes.

That is what the feature to have the Prices change when you change the Retail1 (selling price). Not everyone uses Price 2-5 and not everyone uses suggested Retail. I would say that the majority of people have all prices the same. That is why we now have the ability to have changes to Price 1 make changes to all other price fields automatically.

However your suggestion is a good one, I can see the need to keep the Sugg. Retail the same price when making inventory changes and I have put it in as a suggestion. But we are going down a slippery slope doing this. Someone will inevitably say change only 3-5 because they always use price level 2 for customer discounts.

Actually, I like the idea of having other prices. Sugggested Price is good, however, we use Price 2 for our membership pricing level, Price 3 for another membership level and so on. As our customers move from Price 1 to Price 2, etc ; they receive an increasing discount the more they spend. Couple this with the loyalty dollars and other nifty things this software can do and we have found that our customers enjoy being rewarded with discounts and other perks. It is especially useful during sales or when we want to offer additional discounts. It seems that our customers can't wait to see if they've made it to the next discount level yet. (We run a game store so even making a purchase is viewed as playing a game if you 'win' a discount)
