When adding or updating pricing in inventory manager or in a purchase order, when tabbing to the Price Screen, the focus goes to the bottom store location, (which in our case is a location no longer used). So user has to cursor up to the correct store location, enter "cost", cursor over to "sug. retail" and enter this #, cursor over to "PRICE 1" and enter that #, then cursor down to "PRICE 1" for the unused location and enter any # (the price fields for this location do not autofill). That's an awful lot of cursoring just to add a price for an inventory item, usually leaving us cursing some more.

A few things are going on.

1. The cursor on the price screen currently is defaulting to the first location in the list. This is the location description that alphabetically comes first. If you are no longer using a store then I would name the description something like ZZZStore Name to push it down in the list and get your current location to the top. It is a good suggestion that we have the cursor default to the current location like we do with the workstations. I will add this to the list.

2. I think you are aware of this but I will describe this anyway for the benefit of the forum readers. We have a new pricing option default in Version 8.1.2. The option is located on the Misc Tab of the Location Editor. You now have three pricing options.

Inventory: Manual Price Updating
A. Change Only Selected Price Value
B. Change New Price To All Values for Selected Location
C. Copy New Price to All Price Values for ALL Locations.

Option A will only change the price you are changing. Option B will change all price values if you change Price 1 for the particular location you are changing. Option C will change all prices in all locations when change Price 1 in any location.

This change was made to make it easier to change prices for people who are not using price levels and also might want to just simply change pricing for all stores.

In your case this would allow you to select Option C and just change the Price 1 your store you no longer use. This would then change all the prices.

Changing where the cursor falls in regard to Cost and Sugg. Retail Prices as the default might be more problematic. We can't assume that when users are doing pricing changes that only the Price 1 changes or that users are not going to want to change Sugg. Retail. Changing where the cursor lands here by default I think would end up not working for someone else. And I don't know if we can divine the users intent when going to the pricing that they just want to change pricing and not cost, or don't want to change Sugg. Retail etc.

So in your case, if you set your options to Option C so that when you are on the Price tab, you would simply press the Tab key twice (to bring you into the pricing field, right arrow over to the Price 1 field (or simply mouse click into the Price 1 field) and change it. This will change all prices for all locations.
