RetailEdge will allow you to add serial numbers either in your inventory so that they are available at the time of sale or at the time of sale. If their are serial numbers to be sold when an item is sold RetailEdge will automatically display a screen asking you which serial number you want to select.

This can be a little bit of a problem for users who are adding the serial numbers at the time of sale, because if there is not a serial number to sell, RetailEdge will not ask you for a serial number. If the user forgets to press the Serial Button to assign the serial number to the item, serial numbers can be missed.

To prevent this from happening simply create a dummy serial number for the item. This way the serial number form will always be displayed and ask the clerk to add one to the item being sold.
