RetailEdge point of sale software can purge customers by last action date. This is a good way of getting customers out of your system that have not had any action (sales, edits, etc.). If you run the purge utility for last action date there are some criteria that will stop the purge from happening for a particular customer. If the customer has a Store Credit balance, Layaway Balance and House Charge Balance they will not be purged from the system.
One thing to consider before doing a purge is that RetailEdge can print out mailing labels and export customers who have action dates older than a particular date. This can allow you to send out mailings to customers who have not been in for awhile and you want to provide an incentive to come back in.
