Things to do with a Portable Inventory Collection Device

Purchasing a Portable Data Collection Device (PDT) for use with RetailEdge will allow you to do much more than simply take yearly physical inventories. In addition many customers use these devices to:

    1. Take quick inventories of portions of their inventory for cycle counts or to quickly determine the amount of shrinkage for a particular item or department.

    2. Scan in inventory received in another part of the store (for instance a remote receiving location or warehouse) and update their receiving. This receiving can then be received against a particular purchase order or added directly to receiving.

    3. Scan inventory for orders and add the items to a purchase order.

    4. Scan inventory for transfer to another location and add them to a transfer order.

    5. Simply add inventory quantities to the inventory.

    6. Add items to a sales screen. This can be helpful for businesses that have heavy items that might be put on order (furniture stores, interior design) and then add the PDT items to a sale.
