The way to check how the multi-location synchronization is working in your store is to run the RECON Log Viewer program. The RECON log viewer has the following features that make it easy to see what is going on real-time with the synchronization cycles. RECON will have multiple locations synchronizing at the same time and so some data may flow up or down to a particular location but not to/from another location until it starts another synch cycle.

Listed below are some of the features in the RECON Log Viewer program.

From the Tools Menu

a. Display Last Sync Times. This will display a list of all locations and the date and time of the last successful synchronization. Good way to see who has not been properly synchronizing for a period of time.
b. Performance Check. This will give a list of locations and the average number of Seconds, Records and Transfer Rate (Secs/Record) for the date range set in the viewer. This is a good way to see how good your internet connection is at each location.
c. Drill Down One Location. This will display the only a selected location in the Log Viewer for the selected Date Range. This is a temporary view and will be removed if you refresh the dates or records in the Viewer. This provides a good way to see how one particular location is synchronizing and the number of records that are being transferred during each cycle in the range.

On the Main Viewer

Upper Grid - Shows the following information
Cycle Time Start/Time End
Min/Second. Duration of the current synchronization cycle
Location. The name of the location that has been synchronized or is currently being synchronized.
Version. RECON version at each location. RECON will automatically update itself to the current version if everything is operating properly.
Sent/Received. Number of records sent/received
Notes. Notes for the cycle. This field is used for temporary posting of information as different phases of the synchronization cycle are Started as well as during table verification/rebuild cycles and posting of information about dropped cycles.
DB Remote. The remote database that RECON is synchronizing with at the location.

Lower Grid shows detailed information about what is happening during a particular synchronization cycle (table being synched, start/end time, min/seconds and the number of records transferred). The cycles are divided up into three phases.
Phase 1 posts information about deletions made and deletes records. This is for deletions of information in temporary files (e.g., receiving)
Phase 2 uploads new changes from the remote location to the main location
Phase 3 downloads new changes from other locations to the remote location.

First Date/Last Date - Date Fields that allow you to set the date range for grids view.
Refresh Dates Button - Will refresh the grid below for the range of dates set in the First Date/Last Date fields if you manually change date. The view will be automatically refreshed if you select the date range from the drop down calendar control.
Refresh Records Button - Will refresh the status of the viewer and display the most current information.
Auto Timer Checkbox - This will automatically refresh the view every 6 seconds. This can be useful if you are trying to troubleshoot a connection or simply want to constantly monitor the system to see when a cycle has completed.
Notes Only Checkbox - This will display only records that have a value in the notes field. Good for seeing dropped cycles.
Stay on Last Rec. Checkbox. - The records are displayed oldest to newest. Checking this box will make sure that the view stays on the most current record.
Open/Drop Cycles - Not used anymore.
