Looking to Conserve Paper? Save Money?

Many receipt printers allow you to change the amount of vertical line spacing. Reducing line spacing can save paper and money. In some recent tests, we found one could save 25% and still have great looking receipts.

You'll have to check your printer manual for proper setup codes but users of the Star TSP100 series of receipt printers can accomplish the savings by adding "27,48" (no quotes) to the device's initialization string within RetailEdge. This can be done by editing the printer's device settings and changing the init string on the General Tab.

Many Windows printer drivers also allow for the setting of line spacing. You can check by going to Printers and then editing the properties for the printer (right click the printer and select Properties).
