⁽²⁾When processing credit cards you should verify the integrity of the network you are using. Wireless networks should match the latest PCI requirements for encyrption. If you are using PPI as your Merchant Account, then you can also use encrypted swipe technology as an added security layer.

⁽³⁾As an added security measure you should create a VPN between you and your business. There are many free and inexpensive VPN Clients that will allow you to do this easily and affordably. Windows 7 has a built VPN Client and Server or Hamachi from LogMeIn can also create an easy to use alternative.

⁽⁴⁾This will provide you with only a complete data backup and only if your local computer is synchronized with the master data. This will not provide an incremental backup which can be used to go back to a particular time (e.g, monthly and end-of-year backups)
